What is a D&C?

 

Dilation and curettage (D&C) is a minor surgical procedure to remove tissue from the lining of the uterus (endometrium). It is commonly used to diagnose and treat a variety of uterine conditions, including:

Heavy bleeding

Abnormal bleeding

Miscarriage

Incomplete miscarriage

Retained placenta

Endometrial polyps

Fibroids

Cancer
